Bankstown City Council is one of the largest of the 177 Councils in NSW. Overseeing a city that is 76.82 square kilometres in size and home to approximately 180,000 people, we provide over 100 services and $877 million worth of community assets. We pride ourselves on being a city of progress and are committed to remaining a leader in local government.
Local government responsibilities include:
- Social services, such as immunisation centres, meals on wheels;
- Information services, such as libraries;
- Leisure & recreation facilities, such as pools, playing fields, leisure centres
waste removal;
- Road maintenance and streetscapes;
- Protecting the environment, both the building environment and the natural environment.

Working Locations
Council has a number of working locations, depending on your position you may be working in one of the following:
Head Office
Most office based staff are located at Bankstown Civic Tower - 66 -72 Rickard Road, Bankstown.
Depot
We have two depots located at: Anzac Street Depot, Greenacre and Bransgrove Road Depot, Panania.
Arts Centre
Bankstown proudly opened its new Bankstown Arts Centre in July 2011.
Library
We have 5 libraries located at - Bankstown, Chester Hill, Greenacre Library, Padstow and Panania.
Golf Course
Sefton Golf Course such a fantastic place to work.
Swimming Centre
We have 4 swim centres located at - Birrong Swim Centre; Greenacre Swim Centre; Revesby Swim Centre and Wran Leisure Centre.
